This may sound stupid, but I want a Supercharger that has a nice wine to it! Alot of the companies advertise a "Silent Charger" I am looking for one that will perform well on a S197 and make some noise! Any Sugestions???

Most "silent" superchargers advertise that because their gear-drives are quieter through the use of helical (versus straight cut) gears, teeth counts, tolerances and so on.

If you want to hear noise from a PD supercharger, remove the "silencing" from the intake tract: even a factory Cobra with an Eaton blower will whine like crazy from its intake with a cone filter in place of the OE airbox.

Centris don't make as much intake noise (or perhaps more correctly, make a different intake noise than their roots/twin screw counterparts...).

But yeah, I agree: With all due respect, it does sound kinda dumb to want a blower simply for the noise it makes. :nono:

It is not the olny consideration in the Supercharger choice, but it is one of them. Thanks for everyone's input! Now I just have to buy a Car ???

The whine does sound very cool, they all pretty much whine and as was said there are ways to make it louder.

You should be more concerned about finding the right balance of quality, fitment, and price for your budget and needs.

my Novi 2000 has a nice whine to it. If I am going about half throttle in any gear she'll start screaming until I shift into the next gear. Then she starts to scream again until I hit the next gear, and so on. I think it sounds very intiminating, and the looks from bystanders alone is worth it. It says" Don't f*** with me and my vert.

I suggest that you get on youtube and street fire to listen to a few clips. The old s-trim setup from vortech is known to be loud however there are other things to factor in on how loud/quiet a setup is.
