Would like some advice on weather or not I should spend the money on a mild supercharger for my 93lx 5 speed with 100k on the clock.

The car was BONE stock when I got it 2 months ago, and well taken care of, not dogged.

Since then, I have added the normal bolt ons: BBK Headers, Mac off road H-pipe, Flows w/dumps, MARCH pulleys, Mac fender cold induction, Accel plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, BBK 70mm TB, 3.73 gears, and an AC delete kit.

This is not going to be a daily driver, just a weekend car, want a little more cruising power but dont know if I should add the supercharger if that would be too much stress on the 100k fox body.

Any info/help/advice on where to go would be great! Thanks guys...

It's not how many miles are on the engine, its how well the engine has been kept. Run a compression test on it just to be sure it can handle the boost.

With that said, I have an 89 GT that I added a Vortech SC-Trim to at 107,000 miles, im now nearing the 110,000 mark and have had NO problems what so ever. With many WOT runs and the occasional motor beat downs.

Either way, you might have to get rid of your pulleys and go back to stock depending on what blower you buy. Hope this helps. And if you have any questions Im more than happy to help.

Have compression and leakdown tests performed to see what sort of shape the engine is in. Pull your dizzy cap off and turn the crank with a ratched while watching the rotor and see how much play you have in your timing chain.

If you do go with the supercharger, get a new fuel pump and pressure regulator and filter minimum.

If everything checks out good, than you're fine.

Im in the same boat as you! I have 135k though, im looking into a a basic but upgradahble S/C probably a Novi 1000, i just want to run about 5 or 6 psi for now. I do plan on a 342 Stroker then i'll step up to the Novi 2000. Ive asked a lot of people the same question and everybody says my engine is in great shape "knock knock". I wouldnt think you'd have a problem at all, especially if its been well taken care of.
Youll have to get rid of your CAI and Pulleys so you can make some money off those items!!! What kinda blower are you looking at??

this question seems to get asked at least once a week. Everyone will tell you these motors are strong and can last a long time and to go ahead. do a compression test and check oil pressure
