I have a 95 GT w/ 130k miles on it. Pretty much stock but still runs strong. I just replaced the transmission with a t5 tremec. My question is if I put a supercharger on my 5.0 will the trans be able to handle the extra horsepower or would I need to build it up? I'd hate to blow the trans I just put in it... and its a remanufactured t5 - not a new one and is suppsoed to be built to factory specs.
I've had both, Vortech and H/C/I combo. Personally, I would do the top end of the engine first, and do it right. If you're not satisfied with that, or want to push the limits of your stock block/transmission, which you will be doing, drop that T-trim or the S/SC trim on it.

Dyno results... I hit 319 with everything in the sig except the ignition, heads and cam on a dead stock longblock. Heads cam and ignition pushed it to 390 rwhp.
Yah, I loved that car. The problem was emissions. I had to register the car out of state at some property that I owned. I eneded up having to sell the property, therefore loosing my registration. There was no way to get that car to pass emissions, so I had to sell.
It was border line non streetable. The car liked to idle or blown wide open, there was no in between. It was scary fast. It would brake the tires loose at 60mph. I was always scared to put real slicks on it. I figured it would brake something. The car ran 11.47 from a rolling start. It would never hook up with drag radials. You could smoke the tires thru third gear. Lots of fun to drive around town, you could chirp or burn the tires at will. The 460 was very reliable and never gave me any problems.
The guy who bought the car down sized the carb and the distributor. The car is much more streetable now. The car won Fun Ford this year and also I think it won the Year One Cup in its class. I was able to see the car at both events this year. Still looked great!!!

I wouldnt put a supercharger on any car that is over 10 years old no matter how many miles are on the clock. All the seals in the motor age dried out over time and WILL leak. Supercharging it just speeds up the leaking process.

My cam was the .614 lift and I had the super cobra jet heads on it. It was 11.5:1 Comp. Sounds like you have a good set up. I had the same stall, probably could have used more. That motor did not come to life until about 4k Good luck!!!
