I've got an 86 4 cyl w/ a 84 302. I've got the carb lined out (I think). Now when it idles, I hear a surge. You can hear the engine idle up about every four seconds. It may stay idled up for 1 to 2 seconds. Could it be erratic fuel delivery or should I look more towards an electrical issue. Bad connection, loose connection etc. Also does it make a difference that the igniton coil that is on it is for a EFI 4 cyl and not a 302 carb. I've checked voltage coming to the ignition coil and it was about 2 to 2.5 volts. Don't know if that is normal ( I figured it would be more). Any way to check the output of the coil? If so what output should I have.
