Hey well still in the process of trying to figure out what has been done to my latest car, 88 GT and came across info from a previous owner that the motor may have been ripped into once before and was sure a cam and some headwork was done(still stock heads). Not exactly sure if I believe this but the car currently has 190xxx km's on the clock and does not burn/leak a drop of oil and stays really clean from oil change to oil change.

There is no chip in the car and it is still SD with a slight idle surge but the biggest thing is the car surges almost 95% under constant acceleration at about 2300 rpm all the time once warmed up.

I have tried doing all the adjustments(TPS, cleaned IAC, set idle properly) but to no avail.

My question then is do you think these symptoms could be due to the computer not being able to react to the changes in the motor? I know its a vague question but just trying to figure stuff out. When I took it to the track I ran a quicker E.T. than I was expecting from a stock 2.73'd car and this seems to put truth to my theory but any help is appreciated.

P.S. Sorry for the long post, lotsa info.

Hmmmm. Any codes being spit out? You will have to use a test light or reader since the CEL is not functional.

What is your vac reading at warm idle? It should be very close to 20" hg.

You kinda lost me with the surging while accelerating - acceleration is a surge, of sorts.

Does it like jerk while accerating smoothly otherwise?

Good luck.
