Well, I'm going to wait as long as I can because of money but if the car has to come apart I should do it right and go PI. Anything else is just dumb. I had the throw out bearing replaced not too long ago and while it was apart I had the clutch and everything else that could go wrong in that area redone. It wouldn't make sense not to do it right. I didn't really have the cash for all of that but I'd rather do it right once than do it twice.

Good idea. But if you could get Ford to replace your NPI intake you can then use the new NPI aluminum crossover on the PI intake. Remember, you have two temp. sensors.

I guess it all comes down to when it completley fails though I don't want to keep driving the car in it's current state. What if it let's go at a crowded intersection!

Mine leaked for awhile before I got it completely fixed. Worse case senerio is that you have to add coolant each day and carry an extra bottle in the trunk. You can drive it... just be easy on it. Especially since you only have a slow leak, I think you'll be okay.

It's about once a week I have to add about a half gallon. I don't drive the car a lot i the big picture, only around town and no highway driving.

Just buy a PI intake with al. crossover and deal with it. I used adapter plates ($100) but some folks say you don't need them. Either way, get a PI intake since they are cheap ($160 on Ebay) and a gaskets/part set ($60) and you're set. You will need to drill and tap the al. crossover but that isn't too bad. Trust me, that PI intake swap is "dollar for dollar" the best mod out there and I sure am glad I did it. FWIW, used 2001+ PI cams are also a bargain mod ($75). Good luck.
