im trying to remove my tie rods from the spindles and they wont budge! i had the same problem with the lower control arms but with some penetrating oil and some 5lb persuation they came loose. i even tried using a ball joint seperator but dont wanna ruin the joints. is there a secret i don't know or is my suspension rotten stuck? my car is an original california car with zero rust, i don't understand

my second question is what size is the nut that holds the rear shocks in place? (the ones behind the access hole in the rear) fine thead......? thanks guys :nice:

FYI: i oiled and beat the tie rod ends like a cheap Tijuana hooker! and nothing!

Take a beatin' iron (large hammer) and smack the spindle where the tie-rod connects. Just a good, solid whack....don't hit it like you are trying to break it. This "shocks" the metal and should cause it to release the tie-rod. Then put the castle nut on loose and give it a bump.

do you think a heat gun will loosen it up at all or do i need a torch? i beat that thing every which way! im gonna put some more penetrating lubricant on tonight and give it a shot in the morning. :nice:
