Im looking for a sort of "street/strip /drag" suspension. I don't want anything too crazy. I was already going to go with upr control arms and drag springs. Is there a good shock/struts made that are good for drag racing? Im used to fox bodies which appears has a slightly different recipe. Any input in what would work best for a weekend warrior that wouldn't sacrifice the ride quality too much would be great.

Im not sure if I have to be specific, but the car is a 2008 Mustang GT 5-speed.

I do not have any drag racing experience, what I know is from reading on the forums, but since no one else has helped out yet I will try. The most common drag shock/struts are QA1. I do not know how they perform on the street, but if this is your first modification for drag racing, I think you would be better off with other parts first. The first non-engine mods for drag racing seem to be lower control arms with relocation brackets, drag radials (Nitto NT05R and NT555R are semi-street friendly while Mickey Thomsons ET Streets or M&H are usually for a second set of wheels.) 4.10 gears are a good start, and if you are serious about it a better differential like a Tru-trac or an Eaton Posi unit. Hope this helped a little.

I already have 4.10 gears. I got a set of Mickey Thompson ET streets mounted on a seperate set of wheels for when I go to the track. I planned on getting the UPR upper and lower control arm kit, then I planned on getting their Drag Springs. I know I'm not making a ton of power (intake/tune is my only real mod) but its always been my experience to make the car hook before trying to make a ton of power.

The QA1's are the only real thing I have found, I just havent really seen too many people that use them. Was kinda looking to see if they help out before I bother wasting money on parts that arent necessary.

One of our demo vehicles is a 2010 GT convertible with our Elite Series suspension (tubular chrome moly control arms with polyurethane bushings for a comfy ride), Pro Street panhard bar, and QA1s. The car rides like a stocker but runs 10.17 @ 140 with 60' times in the 1.40s on radials. :nice:

How are the Strange's? I wanna get both struts and shocks, that will be adjustable, so I can set it for the track and then for normal driving. I will be using these with Drag springs. Am I going to need camber/caster plates to put either of these on?

I'm not trying to be cheap, but I'm not seeing a MAJOR difference between the Stranges and the basic QA1s, and the QA1's are twice the price.

Also, I see a different part for w/ and w/o sway bar for the QA1's but not for the Stranges.

Well, the QA1s are a little nicer quality, but they are both adjustable struts & shocks. I've daily driven on the Strange 10-ways for the 79-04 cars, but not the 05+ cars. They ride very nicely on the street, and contrary to popular belief, they actually handle well in the corners when set to stiff.

The QA1 struts use a threaded body for a conventional coilover configuration, and the reason why they list with or without swaybars, is because the swaybar mount actually threads onto the strut body like the spring retainers. It also uses the smaller diameter springs like aftermarket coilovers usually do. Because of the smaller diameter springs, the aftermarket strut mounts (cc-plates) are required for use with the QA1s.

However, the Strange adjustables use the stock style springs and the factory strut mounts.
