I think stack racing is an American Muscle knock off brand. If there is one thing that you would not want to skimp on is a nice shifter. Hit up Ebay or craigslist for a Tri-ax or Pro 5.0 shifter. I personally have the Pro 5.0 and it is shaaaweeeeetttt.

I'd want to try one out before I got it. I don't know how much better than stock they could be for the price versus paying $100 or so more for a true aftermarket shifter.

I have the MGW and it's smooth as butter and constructed so well you won't want to use a shift boot just so you can look at it all the time!

where is the weak point on the stock shifter? Mine feels like im shifting with a rubber handle. Would replacing the handle make it any better? I know the whole shifter is a POS especially after 140k miles of shifts.

Yeah it's not bad. I would prefer a different brand but sometimes you gotta take what's there for you. I scored a MGW for $100 before and I just picked up a Tri-Ax for the same price for the new car.

I would jump on the Pro 5.0. 50x better than stock.

I don't know why but I actually don't mind my stock shifter. I drove a Bullit with a Steeda and it felt really hard to know what gear you were in.
