Is there a difference between the turbo 2.3 head and non turbo?
I'm asking because a friend has a non turbo fox 4 cyl car and a svo turbo 4 cyl parts car. Should he use the complete engine from the turbo car, just the head or what.
The body is not repairable on the svo.

The head is different. While the head can be used from the non-turbo car, it is not ideal.

If the SVO engine is good, he should use it. The rods and pistons in the N/A motor are a time bomb in boosted applications.

Every professional report on rods says they are all the same...even same part number turbo or carb. The pistons may be different due to boost pressures.

Technically correct, but swapping the pistons and reusing the rods isn’t recommended. The main point is that if the bottom end isn’t being rebuilt then the turbo engine is the better choice due to its pistons.
