Why do people put SVT Emblems on a GT?
I pulled in today to gas up and in front of me was a guy with a silver 04 GT. On the left rear it had a SVT emblem. I really dont understand why someone would pay money for a emblem thats just going to make them look stupid. He didnt even bother taking the GT ones off.

I used to live in the little town of Anacortes in northwestern Washington. The local barber bought a brand new silver 99 GT and would park it in front of his shop on the main drag through town. Right after he got it he put oversized Cobra badges (they must have been 6 inches tall) on the fenders above the 35th Anniversary badges and on the trunk lid. I laughed every time I drove by it.

I like the Cobra emblems on V6's.

My pet peive is any decals or stickers at all.

How many times does it need to say Mustang on it. We get it, we know it is a Mustang. It does not need to say it on every visible angle of the car.

They put the snake on any ol mustang because unfortunately people are stupid and think well it must be a cobra. it sux cause it makes our real cobras look less rare. Actually someone really started to yell at me the other day because he thought my 99 was a fake, and started blasting me for putting the decals on. what a moron, he didnt know that in 99 the bumber does not say cobra! ahahah, i showed him it was a cobra when i pulled out of there!

And then you have the guys who get the ricer Type R stickers from discount and put them on the sixbangers

As a GT owner, I fuggin' hate that. I would never do such a thing. I have actually called someone out for that. Embarrassed them good, in front of others.

I agree with you. This is my 4th mustang and two were GT's. I have nothing but good things to say about the GT's. They are really great cars and a lot of fun. Are they Cobras? NO! That does not mean there is anything wrong with them and there is no reason to try and hid the GT behind a SVT badge.

Thats happened to me many times and I have to pop the hood every time Now there is a 04 Blue GT near my house sweet looking car, with the Chrome 99 Cobra style wheels with the factory center caps, typical GT Hood and front bumper, BUT with Cobra badges and the average person cant tell, and he tells everyone its a Cobra poped his hood and he was

Its just like the guy I met the other day with a huge NOS sicker on his rear quarter window......... but no NOS when I asked. Just an embarrassed smile.
