swap from 3.73's to 3.55's???

One more thing. IF you have 3.73's and you are truly at 3000 rpms at 60, then swapping to 3.55 will get you 2850 at the same speed.

hey guys , i appreciate the help. im gonna check the rear gears and the tranny ratio.

i wasnt aware of the fact that there is an overdrive 5 speed and a non-overdrive 5 speed....or am i not undestanding.when i shift from 4th to 5th my rpms really dont drop much...seems like a real close ratio tranny. thats why i came on here when i first did my swap and asked if someone made a low gear set or a close ratio gear set......

There is optional gears for the T5. They still have a fairly deep OD gear. 4th tends to be 1:1 and 5th at least ~.75:1. There of course other trannies out there with a 5th 1:1.

BTW if you take all of the plugs out, you can obviously spin the motor easier than working against the compression.
