Swap Starting Monday!!

Well, I've contimplated it for about a year now and finally made a decision. Im doin the T-5 swap!! Tired of the sluch box AODE. Yeah I know I could build it but I really want a 5-speed. So Monday=AODE out;T-5 in

So here's my question; I need to know EVERYTHING im going to need to do the swap. EVERYTHING, I mean down to bearings, seals, etc, etc. Im ordering most of everything from 5.0 Resto, so its a brand new T-5. I dont want to forget one thing and have to stop the install and order a part. So all you swap guys pitch in and help a fellow stanger!

clutch kit (clutch/pressure plate/throw out bearing)
flywheel
clutch cable
5speed pedals
5speed computer
t5 wiring harness
shifter boot (leather trim piece that makes the shifter look pretty)

and the misc bolts that go along with that stuff

don't forget the clutch fork, you will need the lower shifter boot as well....... goes over the shifter and seals off the tunnel from interior...i don't know if the driveshafts are the same for t-5's and aod's either but i would check....if you just need a yoke i have an extra you could have.....



OH yeah you won't be able to drive it without a shifter... if you going with a new t-5 i wouldn't put synthetic fluid in it to start with either.......i would make sure you bought an aftermarket shifter, it'll last a lot longer that way...

Yeah that would be helpful to know.

MYTIGHT95 - PM me about that yoke, I could use it.

pilot bearing for the back of the crankshaft. if you buy clutch kit most of the time they come with the pilot bearing but you would have to check that out on the clutch that your purchasing.

make sure you get a QUALITY TOB, and Pilot bearing or you will be changine them shortly....

You are starting this Monday and you are still ordering parts? Wow, get ready to wait. I try to get everything in hand at least a week or two ahead - especially for a major job like that.

Definitely get the lower shift boot too. I ran my car a few times without it, and you get a lot of heat coming up through there - plus lots of noise.
