Swapping 96 engine to an 03 NEED HELP

im looking for some help. im swapping out a stock 96 4.6 for a stock 03 4.6. Can anyone point me in the direction of some websites that can help with visuals and photos? or has anyone done a swap like this themselves? I believe im supposed to swap my stock injectors and fuel rails. and my front cover. and a temp sensor needs to be split with a t-valve to run two lines. If anyone knows anything else i could sure use some more help. thanks

what on earth would posses you to downgrade engines

PI > NPI


Yea you need help.. finding a better engine


Plus its technically illegal since the engine is older than the car... Unless you using all of the 03 emissions stuff.

Is the NEW engine a 96 or an 03?
What year model is the car, 96 or 03?

These two questions will clear up a lot of confusion for many.

You just use your coil pack, wires and fuel rails etc and its an easy swap. You will need to drill/tap the intake crossover for the 2nd sensor...other then that its a straight swap.

I'm swapping my engine right now. The engine, trans, Long tubes all come out attached. Get a hoyst and an engine leveler. take off your intake manifold and be doubly carefull about getting all the wires detached, there are a few grounds on the block that can be hard to see. Oh yeah drain all the fluids from trans, radiator, oil, I had to even drain my ac(man that stuff stinks)

Right now all I have to say is I am sick of cleaning up antifreeze.

I guess that would be pretty easy to figure out since there 3 post prior to yours mentions something about it...

Would have been somewhat easier to unstand if it was a little clearer.....

"hey I'm about to put an 03 engine into my 96."

Swapping in a 03 engine into a 96 GT

Hey guys sorry about that i was tired last night and didnt know what i was doing. Im swapping in an 03 engine with 29k into my 96 that only had 85k on the complete car. will everything bolt right up tranny? motors mounts? and what size clutch 10.5 or 11? thanks for all your help
