Will the billet underdrive pulley, I have on my current (stock) alternator, fit the new 3G unit, I'm replacing it with? Or, will I have to buy a new billet pulley? I realize that I will not be using the billet alternator fan. I't the pulley, I'm concerned about. If I need one, I want to get one on order.....today. Thanks guys.

I would stick with the pulley that comes on the bigger alt.

Seems odd to me to buy a larger alt, just to "water it down" with a pulley.

Just my opinion, other may disagree. But I would like to hear those opinions too, just as bottlefed would like to hear them.

The problem here, is it's a show car. I've dealt with the larger pulley on a 'less than stock' alternator for years now. I'd love to have a billet pulley that is stock size. However, to my knowledge, they don't make one. My question, isn't so much, if you would recommend, but more, will it fit.

Jeff, show cars are a completely different beast from what I am used to (my ride actaully has not been washed in 17 months now ). Good luck with it.

I am not sure if the stock pulleys are going to fit or not, but I would think that the alt manufacturer/distributor would have access to several pulley sizes. Maybe they have something that will fit the appearance requirements that you have.

Another resource may be one of your local alt repair shops. These guys are usually very smart with things like this. I would almost bet that one of them would know off the top of their head.

Jeff, In addition to what Jason said, I might ask Wazzee what he thinks. Since that is kinda his realm, he might have some insight.

Good luck.
