Does the brake setup from the Shelby GT 500 fit the GT Model without any issues? I'm already running 18" wheels but I wasn't sure if they needed anything else. Curious if anyone has done this swap and what issues you ran into.

you can buy the kit from FRPP. the only issue is with wheel clearance. you need to check the spokes for clearance.

I agree but does anyone know where the difference is? I just bought a set of foose wheels and rather not spend that money again.

If you bought the Foose Nirtrous II wheels in 18" like I did, there is NO AVAILABLE CLEARANCE for an aftermarket brake calipers...

The only way that brake set up will work is by adding wheel spacers to clear the new brake calipers...

Could be a nightmare in the possess!!!

I plan on doing this swap myself. I have the 18" torque thrust style wheel. I've messured for clearance of the inside of the wheel and they will fit. The spokes I dont know about but a small spacer should fix that.

If you are able, measure how much more the brackets/calipers stick out compared to the stock setup. I'm sure many of us would be interested to know the spacing difference. I know with my Nitrous wheels, I'm probably less than a 1/4 from the caliper.

I'll post that info when I can. The dealership I got my car at had a GT 500. They let me take the wheel off to measure the inside diameter, at the time I did'nt think of checking for spoke clearance. I'll check by the third week of August for sure, unless the dealership gets another GT 500 before then.
