sway bar broke

Just making sure, is the sway bar the curvy bar,in the front and back.

If it is my just broke , I was just droving along and I start hearing this metal hitting metal sound. So I pull over thinking it was something in the trunk, took everything out and still heard the sound. So I look under the car in the passenger side and look towards the back and see this piece of metal coming down, it broke off, its not bad,its just when I drive and hit hits the ground and the metal.

So my question is, should I buy a stock one or an aftermarket? How much do they run and can I take it off and drive with out it? Is it easy to take off and install?
