Switching back to 180* T-Stat?

Kenne Bell sent me a 160* T-stat with the blower so I naturally thought it was a good I dea to put it in (before I knew better). Thing is I have already had the car dyno-tuned with the 160 stat. Would switching back to a 180 mess up my tune? I mean Hotter temps + leaner A/F = Boom? Thats what I've been scared of anyways. Tell me what you think.

that is a good question, i would call whoever tuned the car and see what they thought. Course, they may just want the money. Sorry i can't be any help

BTW.... I really like your car, very nicely done, but how hard is it to see over that hood?

All the stat means is that it circulates water earlier. I highly doubt that your car is staying under 180* now, even with the 160 stat. I think the final operating temp when the car has been running is the same for either, assuming that the fan settings are the same!

Makes no different on the tune. Just leave the 160 in there anyways, its not hurting anything. I always ran a 160 in my old car, even in the 0 degree winter weather.

I doubt it runs 160* but it still runs real cold, which is a good thing I guess, better than hot anyways. Just don't want to run too cold.

What he meant was the 160 degree opens sooner than the 180 degree. Once they are both wide open, they just stay that way. The final operating temp would be the same for either stat.

If the car was tuned with a 160* (and your tuner knew it), it should have been considered anyhow.

I'm with the other guys - if the 160 works for you, I'd just keep it around.
