My buddy found a 95 with a 4.6 and a 5spd how do I tell if it is a T-5 or T-45? I told him I wanted the trans for my stang. Thanks

A 95 mustang should have had a 5.0L in it with a t5, a 96 would have a 4.6L with a t45. Sorry, I dont know how to tell em apart.

4.6L mod motors have different bellhousing patterns than the 5.0L pushrod motors if I recall correctly. I don't believe you can mate a T-45 to a push rod motor and I vice-versa...well, not without some modifications.

A T45 will not have a removeable bellhousing. The T5 will. If it came from a 4.6, chances is that it is a T45 which has to be mated to another modular. If it is a 95, it should come with a 5.0/T5 setup.

the easiest way to tell is if the bolts that hold the bellhousing are on the inside of the bellhousing its a t46 .... the 4.6 and 5.0 actually have the same bellhousing bolt pattern.. ( i know this cause i pulled a 5 liter off my stand and put a 4.6 on the same stand with no changes to the adjusters )

i dont know if the t45 input shaft will fit in the 5.0 crank... d and d transmissions makes plenty of adapter kits and i know you can get a kit for the t56.... so maybe it will work..
