If you're running the car hard (like a long burnout followed by a 1/4 mile pass), is it possible that the ATF in the T45 gets so hot that it expands and leaks out somewhere? Does the T45 have vent tubes for such situations?
At the end of my pass today, the track official waved me over and told me I was leaking something. Back at the pits I saw a lot of the oil around where the driveshaft mates to the T45. But I'm not sure if that's where it leaks, or if the oil just flowed towards that spot. I pulled off the shifter cover, and saw oil around the shifter. I added more oil and cleaned everything up, it didn't leak. I drove around nicely, and still didn't leak. I didn't make any more 1/4 mile passes.
This transmission is new (refurbished), and this is the first time I took it to the dragstrip.
Any ideas?
