T-45 Shifter question?

I can't find any info on the differences between a T-45 Pro 5.0 shifter that goes in a Mustang and the one for the Camaro. Is there a difference in the two applications or can the one for the Mustang be used on a Camaro and vice-versa? The reason I ask is my Son has an almost new one from a Camaro and his friend wants to put it in his Mustang.

I think the mounting surface is different from the transmissions.

Just like the newer model Mustang Tremec transmissions have a different mounting surface than the T-45. The T-45 and the T-5 have the same base so a 79-95 Mustang shifter would work on a 99-01 T-45.

Thanks for the replies, I kinda figured that the fit would not be exact but was hoping it was just the lever or something of the sort, not the mounting base.
