I am doing a 5.0 to 96 DOHC 4.6 swap. For the t-45 transmission is there a difference between the cobra t-45 and the gt t-45? The mount... the gearing? Or are they the same?
thanks
tony
they are different. 1 is in the drive gear on the output shaft and 2 is the ext housing, which puts the trans crossmember and mount in a different location between the 2
ok now that i know that i can take a regular t-45 and put it in my fox.. is there a difference in how much torque either can handle? Are the gear ratios different? like in a fox you have a t-5 and then a t-5 spec Z for example.. and they are two completely different trannys on the inside.
thats why many people brake them I think. I mean do your research. Way i understand is that T-45 is good for 325ft-lb, and TR3650 is good for about 350ft-lb.
I say the hell with T-45. Do it right and dropp T-56 or TKO. I know I would have if I had the money...
