I found a sweet deal on a trans but It is out of a 4cyl. Will it work in a 5.0? If it will what are the pro's and cons. My AOD is messed up and I need a trans NOW.

It will work, but not well. First gear is like 3.97, & the pilot bearing is different, the trans is only rated for 260 Ft/Lbs of torque. The odds are that you will break it if you run it hard.

The pilot bearing you need is for a Ford Ranger Diesel from Auto Zone part #14672

It will work, but don't expect to use that trans forever. Think of it as to get you buy til you get a V8 trans

Thats what I thought... Thanks guys. Now I read somewhere that the trans housings and tail are the same. Is this true? Can I just buy the 5.0 internals for it?

Yes they are the same, but buying trans internals will be expensive. It would be cheaper to buy a blown V8 t-5 and rebuild it than buy all brand new V8-spec gears and synchros
