T-5 OR 4R70W?

4r would be "easier" to swap, as you don't have to do pedals, cable, FA,BH etc.....it would be a personal preference...I thought about it for a long time when I killed my stock aode.....finally made the choice to buy a built aode...I figure it came with it...what the hell....I've got a stock 50 with a stick...maybe one day I'll do the swap...but not real soon..lol

the T5 is much more fun to drive.
auto you can just jump in and drive while holding a hot coffee:).
the aode would be easier to swap out for the 4r70w,but the vss is different between the two.there may be other differences, but i know it's not a straight plug and play swap.
if the T5 swap kit is complete, and you have the tools and knowledge, you can knock that out in a day.it took me about 9-10 hrs straight to complete the swap by myself.first time i've done the swap.
make sure you do your research on how to perform the swap and on the parts in the swap kit your looking at.

either way,good luck.

Glad to hear you got the problem fixed, here's my ditty on the transmissions...

I'm a believer in the 4R70W, but it is NOT a magic bullet. For a car under 350rwhp I would strongly consider a stick. The autos will really sap some horsepower and fuel mileage.

I dyno'd two nearly identical cars back to back - the combos are trickflow with stage 1 cams. The tuning was nearly identical, with the only difference being AFR tweaked for each car to make the most power. The hp difference was roughly 50hp between the T5 and the auto.

If you've got big mods planned then going to an auto may be something you want to consider. If the car will stay a daily driver and you aren't adverse to a stick shift then a swap might be a good plan.

My 2c,
Wes
