I have a 66 with a stroked 351. Looking to make 550ish hp/ftlbs. I want a 5spd that will hold up. It will be a street car with an occasional trip to the strip. I've heard that face plating/proshifting doesn't hold up on the street. I am leaning towards a TKO600, perhaps the liberty upgrade syncro. I posted here, because I figured more people run 5spds here than classic tech.

Pro shifted transmissions are not good for street use. They grind and balk when shifted in a manner consistent with street driving. The harder and faster you shift them, the better they work.

Get a Tremec TKO 500 or TKO 600 if you want to drive the car on the street.

It depends on the rpms you're turning. I have a Liberty Pro-shifted TKO in my stang. The faceplated units do hold up alot better on the street. The standard pro-shift will deteriorate with use due to burrs on the the inside of the sliders and the Pro-rings. (been there, done that) A pro-shifted trans never grinds (except reverse), they Klang. Really loud and really harsh. To try to describe it, the shifting effort is totally effortless at all times but when you pull the gear, it's almost like someone is smacking your floorboard with a 3 lb mini-sledge. If you shift it at a really, really low lugging rpm, they're quiet. If you aren't looking to powershift at 7,200 rpms and up, I'd stay away from it. At 7,800 rpm powershifts, they're perfectly smooth and definately worth it.
