It seems I am losing gear oil from my rear seal. I was wondering, did I put in too much? Or is the seal just crap. What is the proceedure for changing it, and where do you guys get them? I tried autozone, and they didn't carry it.

last time i looked for an output shaft seal they only come from ford. i'm pretty sure you can just dc the driveline take the rear yoke off and change it that way. its been a while since i've had to chage one so...

Not hard, but do it quick!

Most likely just the seal. Drop the driveshaft and yank the seal. It is broken anyhow so removal need not be surgical. I have a piece of pipe that fits the
seal perfectly and I tapped it in slowly while moving around the rim. A bad seal soon leads to a T-5 with no oil which leads to a worn out T-5.I found a small pump at Harbor Freight for under $2.00 that made putting in new fluid a snap.
