T-5 question for reverse gear - PICS UP!!!

Hello,
So I'm rebuilding my T5 out of a '92 LX 5.0 with the assistance of the Hanlon Motorsports repair video (which is quite good). However, I'm reinstalling the mechanism for reverse (the parts that attach to the reverse idler gear) and the spring is entirely different than shown on the video. The spring on the video goes over the post to the front of the tranny. The spring on mine attaches to the side of the tranny. So I've attached it in the way that looks right, but am unsure. Below are two photos of the spring, one when the tranny is in 'reverse' and the other when it is not.

Is this correct? If not... what is?

Thanks for the help!

The photos...

Okay, here are the pics,
one is when it is in reverse, the other is not:
