T-5 question

Hey I've always figured that a T-5 is a T-5 no matter what kind of car it came from. Is that assumption basically correct? I see a T-5 from an 82-92 z28 for sale and I'm wondering if it'll work for my 87 gt. Hate to change the subject, but i was wondering bout something else. I love these forums, but i was just wondering if there are any chatrooms that talk bout 5.0 cars too.

Im thinking maybe bellhousing may be diff.I nocticed a hurst comp shifter had same model # for Stang and firebird

T5s came in jeeps, AMCs, a few nissans including the Z cars, camaros/firebirds, mustangs, and so on. Other than the basic internal design, there are no similarities nor will they interchange or do so very easily..

most t5's are the same, but you may run into a problem on the input shaft, i know that some t5's have a smaller input shaft.......hotwheels of turborides

older camaro and bronco T5's have steel synchros, etc (using gear oil not ATF). as said, the input shafts are often application specific.

T5's for stangs are plentiful; why not use one.

and dont they have some sort of chat feature here on SN?
