Im planning on doing the swap, only problem is the car was originaly an automatic. I've been told that I need to enlarge the opening in the trans tunnel where the shifter comes through witch should be easy, the only thing im not sure about is the brake/clutch pedal set. I don't have a close up picture of how the pedals bolt up to the support.
Can I just buy a clutch pedal and cable conversion kit or do i need anything else for this to work?
www.moderndriveline.com has everything you need and complete instuctions i also think i want to do this to my 67 fastback there whole kit is around 3500.00 has everything
Options. You can do it yourself without the $3500 kit. You will need a clutch pedal. If you pull the pedal hanger assembly out of your car you will see the pin that holds the brake pedal in. The clutch pedal had this pin built in. The hanger for clutch pedals is the same except for a small block on one side that stops the clutch pedal in its resting position. You cam make one. If you look on ebay you'll probably find a complete clutch pedal assembly. At the least you will be able to look at the pictures. They typically sell for $100 or less. If you are going with a cable mechanism, there is also the www.mustangsteve.com kit. Requires welding but you can use any over the counter mustang clutch cable with it. You will need a conversion crossmember. The part that hold the tranny to the tunnel. There are a few options for this as well. You really should do a search for that and figure which you want to go with. If you can afford to drop $3500 on the modern driveline kit go for it. I'm cheap. That's my one cent.
