If you have done this please post

I dont ever remember anyone talking about it. I wanted to do this swap(still do) and wanted to ask if there is a difference between 71-73's and 65-70.

the difference between what is needed for a T5 swap in a 71-73 mustang and 65-70 is you will need a different crosmember and driveshaft. If you had a C4 in you 71-73 you can use your C4 yoke to attach the T5 to your shortened drive shaft.

I actually swaped a Tremec into my 73 mustang last year and I did a lot of research for it before hand. I decided to go with a Tremec due to its improved durability. It is a larger tranny than the T5 and that reqires major problems when installing into the early mustangs (65-70 mustangs have to have their tranny tunnels enlarged to accomidate it), but it fits into the 71-73 mustang transmission tunnel quite nicely.

I created a webpage about my swap and I'll post a link to it here for your amusement.

Please note that this file needs to be updated due so you can't really use it as a complete guide but hopefully it will give you an idea of what's involved. I hope to upload the updated file with all the pictures to my webpage tomorrow.

Very amusing and informative! Thanks for the link. I especially enjoyed the part about filling it, and then checking the level, and then putting the shaft in to stop the leak. :rlaugh:

Impressive technical writing and sense of humor - a rare combination.
