Just figured out why my times were not as good as I liked. I have gears but I still have the V6 7.5 rear. I was the 14.2 @ 96 one wheel wonder this weekend. Can anyone give a link on how to install a traction lock assembly? I tried to search but had no luck.

I would go get a Chilton's manual. My Dad and I used the actual Ford manual for my car, that was really detailed. Plus you'll have that book if you have to fix anything else.

I have both fox haynes and 94-2000 haynes but they don't go into it. I'm looking for any link that shows how.

Yes I tried the corral too using the search but almost everyone talks about rebuilding one or getting one installed.

Did you check under the tech section? I thought there was a Mustang website that had a detailed explanation of an 8.8" gear swap.

Picked up my t-lock from UPS yesterday fresh from Ford through Gefracing. I called around but most shops down here in retirement city don't even know what I'm talking about. Found someone that knew what he was talking about with experience and quoted 100-150 install with new bearings. Can't wait to get both wheels gripping to see my time in the quarter. Cant get it done until 3-4 weeks from now since he is booked all next week, so I'll just have to wait.

Whats the difference between the ford racing trak lock and Eaton Posi or Auburn?

If I rebuild my t-lock will it hold up if I put DR's or ET streets?

I've read that the others are stronger and able to withstand increased horse power. My 7.5 inch is supposed to be good up to 300 hp. I'm right on the limits so it may not hold out long and then I'll have to go for an 8.8in. I was thinking about going for the IRS cobra rear. I know T-birds have IRS and there are a ton of them at the junk yards so I was going to look into a T-bird swap if it can be done.

Let me know if you find a T-bird rear end that fits out year mustang. I am in the hunt for one.
