T-Rex wiring to fuse panel ??'s

My quarter just ended so I have some time off and am trying to finish my vortech install, but had a question on the last part of the instructions to my T-Rex, which reads:
"Route the remaining long red wire from relay terminal #30 up to the fuse panel located under the dash. Using a solderles connector, connect the supplied fuse holder and fuse to the end of the wire. Crimp the fuse wire to the supplied female slide and fuse tap. Attach fuse tap and wire to fuse # 17."

Does anyone have any pictures of this, I'm just having a difficult time understanding whicdh is the fuse tap and how to wire it up. I have this thing with a red 10 guage wire with a place that looks like you can place a fuse, but I don't know how to connect it if this is the right part. Any advice would be appreciated. BTW, its the s-trim

Thanks,

Alright, I got ya on this one. Forgive the pics I think they are a little fuzzy, but my explanation should help where the pics may not.

You take the end of the long red wire (this is the one that goes to the fuse panel) and place the crimp (the metal piece with the plastic cover) on it, and crimp it onto the wire. Then you slide the fuse tap (the metal piece with the U at the end of it) into the non crimped end of the crimp.

Next you slide the fuse tap over the fuse as shown. The U should be on both sides of one side of the fuse.

And here is the finished product. The fuse and tap just slide back into the original fuse location. In this instance the fuse I used is the one suggested in the Vortech installation guide.

If you need less blurry pics or more help just let me know, it took just a few minutes to do this stuff!

Does your kit come with a fuse block that looks useless? If so, use the fuse block with a red wire that is wrapped in a circle to fuse the pump. To my understanding of how the crimped end that goes to the fuse block works, it is not being fused by this alone. If you pull power off of one side of a fuse, you are not effectively completing a circuit but rather gaining power directy from the source and not routing it through a fuse. This is why the T-Rex pump comes with the fuse block and wire. This may not make sense at first, but think about it a while and it should. Good luck.

Yeah, I've been told recently that this is pretty important, and I have recently aquired a helpful diagram to help me hook it up. I just don't understand why vortech wouldn't put instructions to wire it up, unless I'm being stupid and complety missed them on the instructions, but don't think I did. going to wire that fuse protector thing in.
HGFireHazard or anyone can anyone see the pic with the fuse tap? I thought to make a connection I would have to use the fuse tap and make it touch the metal prongs that come out of the fuse to make a connection, but the picture looks like its on the plastic part?

Of course I can! Sorry I didn't get to ya sooner, work got in the way :D Here are some more pics that should help ya out. I turned on the manual focus this time.

In this one you can see how the tap goes on both sides of 1 prong, just as you thought it did

Here is the "back side" of the fuse. The way I have the fuse tap on in the pictures is the same way that I plug it in as well

And in case you are still confused, this is an angle shot that gives you as much perspective as I can give you in one pic

Finally, we have the fuse and tap plugged in. As you can see the tap is on the drivers side of the fuse. Unless you modify the fuse panel cover you will not be able to place it back onto the fuse panel.

I feel ya about getting your Vortech done. I still have to wait one more week before my MAF comes in, but everything else is done with the exception of my boost gauge vacuum and the MSD BTM that came with the kit. Good luck, and if you have any other questions PM me again!
