T-Rex wiring to fuse panel

Alright, I got ya on this one. Forgive the pics I think they are a little fuzzy, but my explanation should help where the pics may not.


You take the end of the long red wire (this is the one that goes to the fuse panel) and place the crimp (the metal piece with the plastic cover) on it, and crimp it onto the wire. Then you slide the fuse tap (the metal piece with the U at the end of it) into the non crimped end of the crimp.


Next you slide the fuse tap over the fuse as shown. The U should be on both sides of one side of the fuse.


And here is the finished product. The fuse and tap just slide back into the original fuse location. In this instance the fuse I used is the one suggested in the Vortech installation guide.

Does your kit come with a fuse block that looks useless? If so, use the fuse block with a red wire that is wrapped in a circle to fuse the pump. To my understanding of how the crimped end that goes to the fuse block works, it is not being fused by this alone. If you pull power off of one side of a fuse, you are not effectively completing a circuit but rather gaining power directy from the source and not routing it through a fuse. This is why the T-Rex pump comes with the fuse block and wire. This may not make sense at first, but think about it a while and it should. Good luck.

Here is the "back side" of the fuse. The way I have the fuse tap on in the pictures is the same way that I plug it in as well


And in case you are still confused, this is an angle shot that gives you as much perspective as I can give you in one pic


Finally, we have the fuse and tap plugged in. As you can see the tap is on the drivers side of the fuse. Unless you modify the fuse panel cover you will not be able to place it back onto the fuse panel.


I feel ya about getting your Vortech done. I still have to wait one more week before my MAF comes in, but everything else is done with the exception of my boost gauge vacuum and the MSD BTM that came with the kit. Good luck, and if you have any other questions PM me again!
