Just this week My tranny started grinding if I tried to put it into first when the vehicle is still moving slowly. It's been hot (90) here, could the fluid be too thin for summer? Never noticed this problem before.

yeah its between 10 and 15.... I was told this problem was caused by a bad synco...which is not cheap to fix :nonono:

BTW..I know nothing and would like to put this out there...IM STUPID AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT...

but i have heard this from reliable people :p

does the 3650 have a stop that prevents you from shifting into first at anything more than like 10mph? I could be wrong..

If you rev first then put it in first it works....a little rough, but it works lol. I hate it cause it's such a hastle when someone wants to race from a 10 or 15 mph roll, it feels like it's not gonna go in, but just rev and it will make this funny whistling sound while goin in :D god i love tremecs!!!!!! :nonono:

I have noticed in mine that I can shift into 1st easy if I apply the brakes for some reason. For example, traveling at 30 mph (or another speed) I push the clutch and apply the brakes. As I'm slowing down I shift into first at about 10 mph. Slides in easy everytime. I hope that is easy to understand.

How much millage ? When was the last time you changed out the fluid ?

From my experience using gears to slow down, using 1st gear is a BAD idea. My guess is you've made a habbit of this. My car has low millage and I tried it out today on the way home from work and it allows me to go into first going slowly.

I'd try changing out the fluid first before anything else.

Down shifting is when you go from 5 to 4, 4 to 3, and even 3 to 2, but there is no reason to down shift into 1. For one it's equivalent to slamming your beaks on, and for two, if you need to go into 1st you should be going slow enough anyway to just use the break. Down shifting is for slowing down from a fast speed. It really helps.

From a roll though it's kind of tricking going back into 1st once you're out. You just get a feel for it.
