Hey guys so my car has no trans at the moment, it was orig. outfitted with the tr3650 and I had a TKO in it, but hated it and got rid of it. Now im looking to go built t45 what is required to swap in the t45? Would it be cheaper to put a 3650 back in and wait to get a built t56 or something else?

I just need the car running as I have enlisted in the marines and need it running for when I get home from boot so i can take it to job training and my first station.

Any suggestions/ help would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone knows anyone with a very cheap 3650(400-500) I would be willing to purchase this weekend and wait for my built trans when i get back from Marine recruit training next spring, to build.

D & D Performance

They have new TR3650's for 999. It's hard to find used ones around this area. Anyways...the mid01-04 T45's have an electronic speedo just like the TR3650. There is virtuall no difference in the transmissions besides the TR3650 has a higher torque rating capacity, and that the fluid drain plug is on the bottom vs. the T45's on the side. They are both 3 bolt starters and have the same bolt pattern on the engine.

Thats cheap, considering it was $800 to get my t45 partially rebuilt. When i say partially i mean it has new 1-2 synchros and blocker rings. That was with me taking the trans out myself.

I just did mine the other way around...went from a t-45 to a t3650 and it was seamless. I mean seriously no fitment issues, period.
