I think something's wrong with my transmission.
It's the stock t45 in a 1998 cobra.

From first to second it jolts
it jolts in fourth when i let off the gas, almost like when it starts engine breaking, it bucks, sometimes pretty hard.
it jolts when I put it into 5th, I put the shifter in 5th just fine, but when I go it jolts. Sometimes it doesn't if I put the shifter in gear and wait a few seconds before going.

I know the T45 has its little quirks, but I'm pretty sure these aren't normal. I have a few theories, I think whatever hold the transmission in place might be bad, or loose or whatever, like the mounts or the crossmember. Just a theory.

Does anyone have any ideas? thanks.

Does the entire car jolt?Feels like it jumps forward?whats the mileage?any recent work done to the car?were you beatin on it when this started?

If the tranny mount was bad you should hear a thump in the floor since the tranny would hit the underside of the car on accel and decels...unless its just not completely broke. If you think the crossmember might be loose, put a socket on and see.

Other than that my guess would be possibly somewheres in the clutch.Do you smell a burnt smell?kinda like someones been riding the brakes.

It doesn't sound like anything internal to the transmission, but it definately sounds like something in the drivetrain is loose. You'll have to get under the car and start looking around. Check the engine and transmission mounts, driveshaft/U-bolts and rear end for loose and broken parts. Check for excessive play in the driveline.

deff check the driveshaft bolts as well as the pinion bolt behind where the dshaft mounts.since your under there you can check your crossmember but i doubt it,also doubt the trans mount, you would hear clunking when on off the gas.check your u-joints as well but im thinking your clutch is messed up or there is play in your ring and pinion.
