i finished my swap last night on my 96. i swapped out the 4r70w for a t45. it took so long cause i ordered my stuff form a place in georiga, and they sent me a cobra, or windsor flywheel(8 bolts instead of 6), and i had to wait for them to send me another, then they sent me a 01 1/2 to 04 romeo flywheel (11 inch instead of 10 1/2) so i had to track down a 99 or 01 cobra clutch kit (11 inch and 10 spline still).

now, for my problem. my silonied(spelled wrong) clicks when i turn my key, but nothing at the starter. has anyone here done this swap, and had the same problem? i bought everything except the computer, because i plan on getting the car tuned again anyways. it clicks when i turn the key, and when i let off the key, it clicks twice. there is no power going to the trigger wire on the starter either... any ideas or seggestions? i have everything hooked up as far as i know, the new neutral saftey switch, and even cruise controll switches. everything was there in the stock harness. i bought the new manuel trans harness for my reverse lights also. does anyone have any ideas for me? i need as much help as possiable. thanks. rob.

Well, u know relay have power(because your hearing click). So start from there. Is there power on wire AFTER relay? if so, keep following wires with test light.

You definatley need a tune or computer. Did you install clutch pedal too ? The clutch pedal has a sensor on it so if its not pushed in the car wont start.

found out that the clicking was the abs module. im still getting constant power at the starter from the big wire, im just not getting power at the trigger wire. its boggiling me. no one up here has done it, and 5 speed 4.6's are a pain to find, which is also another reason for me doing this swap. i'm thinking its got something to do with the absence of something from the automatic. i got a automatic wireing diagram, but itd help if i could read it. im used to carbureated vehicles, not this new, 10 year old stuff. dunno. thanks for the ideas guys.

Try jumping the Clutch pedal wire on the tranny. Like it was stated earlier, if you dont have the clutch in, the car will NOT start. The wire should be on the passenger side and has the cable is a double female.

When I did the swap a few years ago I was in the same boat. There is a wire that you have to "jump" on the wiring harness under the hood next to the firewall

thanks for the pic. is that the trans harness? i think i found a nother way to do it too.... i followed the white with the pink tracer wire for the trigger wire into the inside of the car. remember where the jumper was that was used for the automatic? well that wire gors to there, along with a white with a red, but in the neutral saftey switch, for the clutch pedal postion switch, there is only a white with a red, and nothing else. im thinking if i jump the white with the pink, from the automatic jumper, i'll be able to get it to work. the picture is very appreaciated tho, and i will use it, if this doesnt work.

thank you very very much 98gt.

rob.

hmmm..... i jumped the white with pink, and the red with the blue, and it works fine. i've been driving it in the back yard for about a hour and a half now.

yours is a 98 right?

i wonder if my harness came off of a 98, cause i have those two wires jumped, in the harness, before i even seen them. maybe thats why.

anyways, thanks again, i really appreciate it alot.
