Ok i have a 35th anniversery mustang gt currently 3rd and 4th gear will not even engage so a used tranny is in the works. I was wondering if I had the t45 or 3650? And if i get either or used what has to be done to swap in? Is there any diffrence, and can I use my bellhousing that is in the car now to reduce shipping weight?

Bellhousing is part of the trans, so you can't detach it from the trans.

I beleive you'll need a different flywheel and clutch setup to run with the t-3650

both transmissions have integral bellhousings. you have a t45 in there. they switched to the t3650 in 2001.

Ok I was told that they started putting them in midway threw 99 so that helps out alot. Thanks guys. Also I am looking on ebay but where would be some other places to find a t45 for 500 or cheaper?

Classifieds on here or www.corral.net

Be warned, a lot of early 01-02 t-3650's have a 1-2 clunk problem when it's cold out. It's a design flaw of the tranny.

Trans is strong as **** though rated at 360 ft-lbs, but shifts like ass when it's cold out.

You'll need an 11" flywheel and clutch to go with the transmission. T-45 is 10.5"

you dont have to get a 11" clutch for the 3650, you can still use a 10.5" setup with the 3650.

...but it's a T-45 that you need. Unless, you want to convert to a 3650. I personally love my T45, especially after a good fluid change, clutch, pivot ball and fork, and MGW. Look for LKQ, they usually have some sweet deals for trannys. Look there, and on Ebay, as long as the seller isn't jacking you on shipping.
