I have no idea what is going on with my T5 and need some help. When i start my car in the mornings the trans is usualy stiff going through gears untill i get on the interstate and stay in 5th for a while. Also, when it is between 75-90 out it is a bit hard to get it in 1st after driving just a few miles its like the trans gets a minute to heat up and 1st is almost impossible to get into. I have also noticed that if i take it out above 90 going through gears is butter. Is it my transmission heating up and causing the gears to expand at stoplights? I took it out today at 85degrees and no problem, but for the past 2 weeks when it gets hot i have to pump the clutch about 10 times to slip into 1st. What could this be if it were the gears heating up then why is it so difficult in the morning or could it be my throwout bearing going out?

i had similar issues, but it was my clutch cable. and it was okay when it was cold but as the car got hot (driving a few miles/minutes was okay, 30+ minutes of city driving + heat soaked engine is what made it horrible) the cable would stretch out and it wasnt engaging the clutch all the way this was causing a very stiff pedal and hard to get the car into first and reverse, and a very rough knotchy shifting. hope this helps.
