T5 question

I need to know how the speed gear on the output shaft mounts. does it have a ball retainer type, or does a spring clip hold it in.

ok, i will look, do most all t5 transmissions have that clip. Mine is currently sliding around and not doing its job on the output shaft.

I've never seen one that wasn't a spring clip type.

Every one ive seen has had the clip.

Common failure..happens a lot. Clip breaks and speedo gear walks. need to remove the tailhousing to fix it.

And heres the mainshaft. The raised boss is where the gear sits, the hole is where the clip snaps into. Driveshaft slides onto the splines on the right
