93 Mustang 5.0. Noticed a year or so ago a rattle from the transmission on our way back from mustang week. Never really noticed it just driving around home. Noticed it again while at foxtoberfest.
I decided to change the clutch and all associated parts. Also changed the input shaft. I was afraid to go any deeper into the transmission. I changed the fluid with mobile 1 atf. I put in almost 3 quarts.
I have determined this weekend that the noise is only present after driving 75 miles or so. After it sets for about an hour the rattle is gone until you go the 75 miles or so again.
This transmission has not been rebuilt and has 75000 miles on it.
Seems to me it has to do with the atf getting hot.

When does it rattle? RPM based? Does it change with RPM? Does it do it while stropped idling in neutral?

Does this car have cat converters on it? If so, any chance it the heat shield?
