T5 Swap - Driveshaft and output yoke

I understand you need a conversion U-joint if you want to use your stock driveshaft. Can anyone tell me what size I'm looking for? 1310/1330?

Also: My T5 came with output yoke and driveshaft from a 88GT. Should I use the driveshaft from the 88GT or my stock driveshaft?

The 88gt driveshaft is too short. You can reuse your old driveshaft and old yoke. Some speak against the old yoke. It is minimal difference, one is metric one is standard, both yokes fit. You will have to shorten your driveshaft. Typically it is around 1"+/-, but better to measure for yourself.

Just get an all new drive shaft. After all the work you have put in your car why cut corners there ?

You can get a T5 convertion yoke that is shorter so you can use your stock drivesaft.

How much shorter? I have an alum DS left over from my foxbody (89-93 mustang) days and want to use it in my 65. Would that be a no go or should I hold on to it and see if it's possible? Car will have a 351W, Hiedts front end, C4, 9"...

I had to get a new u-joint for my T-5 conversion, but I dont have the box it came in. would the number be on the u-joint itself? I guess you could take your old one and your new yolk to the parts store and find one that fits. I'll look and see if the u-joint has the number on it.

I just got my driveshaft cut and reused my old C4 yoke. Having the driveshaft cut was cheap and it keeps the correct amount of the yoke in the end of the tremec when I'm cruzin on down the road.

I had to cut my stock driveshaft 1.5 inches and ended up welding a new end on it to use the newer (bigger+beefier) standard U-joints found on most stangs nowadays. I used a conversion yoke as well.

If you need to get your shaft cut, might as well weld on the newer end so you can get the u-joint from any parts counter, and its not some special conversoin peice.
