I am doing a T5 swap in my 68 and unfortunately couldn't salvage the speedo cable from my 3 speed manual tranny (don't ask). Given this swap, what is the correct speedo cable and gear to get? I am running the original guage cluster currently (although strongly considering a future upgrade to one of Reenmachine's new units). Thanks.

A C4 cable is the ticket. Which speedo gear is determined by your tire hight, rear gears, and # of teeth on the driven gear in the T5. Do a search! There are charts out there that will help you pick out the right speedo gear.

Any particular year for the cable?

Thanks for the response. Is there any specific year C4 cable I need or are they all the same length? I suppose any of the Mustang parts suppliers would carry this. I have seen the gear chart referred to before in this forum, I'll do a search for it. I also plan to change my 2.79:1 granny gears for something more aggressive. This is a street driven car, what gear ratio do most of you run with this kind of combo (347, T5)?

C4 Speedo Cable

I found this C4 Speedo Cable on Summit. This has a speedometer cable thread size of 5/8 18. They also offer one with 3/4 20. Can someone tell me which one is correct for my 68 speedometer?

Just bringing this old thread back from the dead. I need to order a speedometer cable and understand I can just order a C4. Will this cable for the 65/66 work for my 68? Mustangs Unlimited didn't list a C4 cable for the 67/68.
