Anyone done this swap? I ordered the mustang specific complete kit from D&D (inlcudes DS and xmember brackets, clutch fork). Any pointers would be appreciated. Looks like the exhaust (h pipe) will be the biggest pita.
Thanks

I think this article in done on a foxbody but might help you out with your project. http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/17658/

It's very straight forward. I put a Viper spec T56 in my 95 and theres not much to it.. Just make sure that when you put the hangers up for the crossmember that you are on the factory unibody rails.. So anotherwards if you have subframe connectors you have to notch them out and slide the hangers up so that the tranny sits level, otherwise the shifter will be to low in the tunnel along with other issues if you try to just put them ontop of SFC's. Also don't bother with trying to bolt them hangers up through the rail.. Grab a welder and weld them in, much easier and IMO better. Once you relocate the crossmember everything else is pretty much just like a normal tranny swap.
Once in stalled the only issue I had was the Mac H pipe needed to be extended about an inch at the crossover because it wanted to to hit the inside portion of the Crossmember humps. Other than that you won't have any exhaust issues. Basically on my setup with the mac H pipe when I had it, instead of slidding the to halfs into each other on the crossover, you needed to but them together and weld. that's all it took.

Thanks for the info guys. I read that article...thanks. Sounds like it's pretty staight forward. Yes I heard that the frame connectors need to be nothced. Any one with any experience with the standard aftermarket mustang T56. I think it's a little shorter than the Viper T56. I think my prochamber is going to be in trouble unless it can live in the middle of the exhaust.
