I am threatening to put a cobra trans T56 into a car that needs a mechanical speedo. From what I can tell to you can pay someone 300 bucks to convert it for you, but I hate paying someone good cash when I can do it myself.

Anyone done this? Parts needed and where to get them? Cost? Etc?

I know D&D sells T-56 kits for our cars. Maybe you could call them and ask them how they put mechanical speedos on them.

They sell the T56 for a mechanical speedometer pickup. They have changed their website around and don't have all the info that they used to on their Ford T56 install kits. Click the link tho, it's not a cheap setup.

I am not looking for a T56 with a mechanical speedo, those are easy to find, I am looking on how to convert a T56 from an electric speedo setup to one that accepts mechanical speedo input.
