the double guage pod doesnt fit too well(at least mine didnt) and the guage are too deep and push the panel away from the pillar.

Just an idea: cut the pillar pad directly where the gauges are and try a heat gun to form the pod better (heat it up and bend it for a better fit).

oh yeah? that sucks...maybe i can adjust the guages somehow. with spacers even...who knows. anyway i like the way the tach is mounted but i wish i could see more of the speedo you know. i think mine may be easyer to see since i have the circular guages in the panel. thanks man! do you have a picture of the piller pod fomr maybe the passenger side? or farther back?
thanks again

the pillar pod fits fine without guages, the guages are too deep, and also the they are angled so their dead on to the passenger, and a wierd angle to the driver.

I know that it is only a 3 3/4" tach, but you might want to check out the Autogage ATM-2302 that Summit carries. One big plus of this tach that makes up for its smallness, is that it has a fully adjustable 5/8" shift light built in. It can be mounted slightly to the left of steering wheel column (between the amp gauge and the speedo of the 66'.) Its low profile is a plus to seeing both those gauges. The whole interior of the tach can be rotated 360 degrees so that the face does not have to be at an angle to the driver.

I'm currently installing on in my 65' GT and the preliminary mockup looks great. Fully visible through the stock steering wheel too. Don't know if I can get a pic up today but will try if your interested. . . .

Here is a site that detailed installation on a ricer. Note the pic with the shift light. http://www.wgn.net/~joe_r/tach/tachinst.html
