tach not working....4 cyl swap

i just got done converting a 88 lx to a v8... i fireded it up for the first time tonight, only for a minute.

everything seems good, except my tach doesnt register....its a v8 (7k rpm) tach that i swaped in...

is there something else i am supposed to do?

well. I never saw it in a vehicle but i got it from a local guy that only deals with mustangs and LSC parts.

I asssume he wouldnt sell a bad unit...but possibly is there a way to test?
