Tach not working!!!!

My stock tach stopped working all of a sudden. Sometimes the needle will stay down and at times (usually when I hit a bump) the needle will bounce up. Have thought about getting an aftermarket tach but I dont really like them. I would like the car to look as stock as possible. Any ideas?

Pull the gauge cluster and check to make sure one of the two connectors hasnt wobbled loose from the back somehow... Are all of the other gauges working properly? Maybe you have a wire that has rubbed through on something. If it sometimes moves when you hit bumps, seems like a bad connection somewhere. Im no genius with electrical problems, so thats about all I have to offer...
