Tach Recommendations/Installation

Ok, so I don't wanna look like an idiot with a 5 inch tach on the dash of my automatic. However, I know the factory tach sucks and with this new chip the factory tach is reading in the 6K range. The optimum shift point is 5470 for 1st gear. If the tach is off 5-600 rpm I don't wanna call yelling at the chip guy for setting the chip to 6K when its actually 5500. Any recommendations? How does an aftermarket tach install in the 94?

I'm guessing you're talking about the wiring portion. If I remember right, one wire to the coil or aftermarket ignition, tach terminal, one to ground, one to 12 v batt, and one to a power source that is used with the instrument panel lighting. Other than that, just choose your placement.
