Tach wiring!!

Well i just picked up a tach from a buddy tonight for $50. its and autometer autogauge. I dont know what all the wires go to Which it the tach wire that gose to the stock tach?

help is apreciated(ms)!!!!

AM has an install PDF on their website.

The signal wire goes to the neg side of the ignition coil or the side of the MSD ignition box (if applicable).
The rest of the wires are self explanatory.

not to hi-jack the thread, but what's the difference between autometer and autogauge, besides the face of the gauges? i know autometer makes autogauge, but do you just pay more $$ for the name?

Seems to me that Autometer is just the upscale version. Kinda like Toyota and Lexus.

did u get it? one wire hooks to the tach terminal. its the orangeish wire runnign to the top of your coil where the little harness plugs in . the other is just power and another power for the light, and another ground.... good luck

Well i just went and checked and the only wires i have on top of the coil is a green wire and a orangish wire(with a green line). What will i need to hook it to?

Someone else can probably tell you the exact color, if it was not mentioned already. YOu might see a + and - sign on the coil terminals. Or use your test light to find the neg side.

ok i took the clip off and found the neg side. It was the green wire. ITS ALIVE!!! Thanks for the help guys!!!!
